Kooabo is a brand, offering travel experiences in West Africa. The brand is focused on giving an authentic travel experience to people as they explore west Africa.
What we did
The Kooabo brand was looking for a logo to reflect the purpose of their brand; travel experiences in west Africa. They wanted the logo to hinge on African culture and showcase her diversity. To accompany the logo they requested a simplified brand guideline showing the application of the logo in different scenarios and environments, the colour codes and the font choice as well.
The goal was to create a simple, clean, light logo with an adinkra symbol next to the name to reflect the ethnicity of the brand. Adinkra is a set of symbols developed by the Akan, used to represent concepts and aphorisms. The team wanted the logo in 2 versions; an icon and an icon with the text. The idea was to create versatility in the application of the logo to make and ease of application. In terms of colours, they hesitated between deep purple, black and white or blood orange. As usual, they wanted the logo in different formats and best resolutions for any social media platform, internet, print etc.
The project was an exciting one for the team and the result met the objective. In terms of colour, the Kooabo team chose dark purple simply because, upon reception of the first draft of the logo, the purple met the brand goals visually. The logo was delivered in 5 different formats which are our standard formats for logo design; PDF, PNG, JPEG, ESP, and SVG.
